...STRONG THUNDERSTORM IN EASTERN ALPINE COUNTY...

At 458 PM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7
miles northeast of Ebbetts Pass, or 9 miles southwest of Topaz Lake,
moving north at 20 mph.

Half inch hail and winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with
this storm.

Locations impacted include...
South Lake Tahoe, Gardnerville, Gardnerville Ranchos, Woodfords, Mesa
Vista, Alpine Village, Grover Hot Springs, Kingsbury, Junction CA 89
And CA 4, Hope Valley, South Lake Tahoe Airport, Minden-Tahoe
Airport, Monitor Pass, Turtle Rock Campground, Paynesville, Junction
Nv 88 And Nv 206, Indian Creek Reservoir, Alpine County Airport,
Junction CA 88 And NV 88 and Junction U.S 395 And NV 756.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

During a thunderstorm, seek shelter inside a sturdy structure and
stay away from windows. Hikers and campers should seek shelter in a
vehicle if possible.

...LAKE WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 8 AM TO 8 PM PDT SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Southwest winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph
  expected. Waves 1 to 3 feet.

* WHERE...Greater Lake Tahoe Area and Tahoe, Donner, Fallen
  Leaf, Prosser and Boca.

* WHEN...From 8 AM to 8 PM PDT Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Small boats, kayaks and paddle boards will be prone
  to capsizing and should remain off lake waters until
  conditions improve.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Check lake conditions before heading out and be prepared for a
sudden increase in winds and wave heights. Consider postponing
boating activities on the lake until a day with less wind.
