The following message is transmitted at the request of the Forest
Service Eastern Sierra Avalanche Center.

The Forest Service Eastern Sierra Avalanche Center has continued
a Backcountry Avalanche Warning.

* Timing...in effect through 4 PM PST today.

* AFFECTED AREA...The eastern slopes of the Sierra Nevada
  mountain range between Virginia Lakes on the north to Bishop
  Creek on the south.

* AVALANCHE DANGER...The avalanche danger for the warning area
  will remain HIGH through today.

* REASON/IMPACTS...Very heavy recent snow combined with ongoing
  wind will result in widespread sensitive avalanche conditions.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Very dangerous avalanche conditions. Travel in avalanche terrain
is not recommended. Avalanches may run long distances and can run
into mature forests, valley floors, or flat terrain.

detailed information.

Similar avalanche danger may exist at locations outside the
coverage area of this or any avalanche center.
