Then, roadway flooding, especially in low-lying and poor drainage areas, and ponding of water in urban areas will be likely. Shallow rockslides, mudslides, and debris flows will be possible, especially near steep terrain and in and around recent burn scars. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1032 AM PST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated light to moderate rain across the western portion of the county and moving into the eastern portion by noon today. Heavier rain will start to move into the area this afternoon, with rainfall rates of 0.25 to 0.50 inches per hour and local rates up to 1.00 inch per hour will be possible, especially near any thunderstorm that forms. In and around recent burn areas, shallow mudslides, rockslides, and debris flows are possible. - Some locations that could experience flooding include... Rip currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Large breaking waves can cause injury, wash people off beaches and rocks, and capsize small boats near shore. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Some minor flooding of low lying areas such as parking lots and coastal walkways is possible near the times of the morning high tides Friday and Saturday. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions, or stay near occupied lifeguard towers.
