...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 445 PM PST THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...Alameda and Contra Costa counties.

* WHEN...Until 445 PM PST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Ponding of water
  in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 128 PM PST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Minor
    flooding is already occurring in the advisory area. Between
    1.5 and 3.5 inches of rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over
    the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Oakland, Fremont, Hayward, Concord, Berkeley, Richmond,
    Antioch, Livermore, Mountain View, San Ramon, Pleasanton,
    Union City, Walnut Creek, Pittsburg, Dublin, Danville,
    Martinez, Oakley, Pleasant Hill and San Pablo.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Weather Service when you can do so safely.

* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive
  rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Alameda county.

* WHEN...Until 230 PM PST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Ponding of water
  in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1129 AM PST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
    indicated heavy rain. This is causing urban and small stream
    flooding. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 1.5 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Oakland, Fremont, Hayward, Sunnyvale, San Leandro, Alameda,
    Union City, Newark, San Lorenzo, Piedmont, Emeryville,
    Cherryland, Fairview, Ashland and Sunol.

* WHAT...Small stream flooding along Alameda Creek caused by
  excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Alameda Creek in Alameda county.

* WHEN...Until 200 PM PST.

* IMPACTS...Flooding along Alameda Creek and other low-lying and
  flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue
  to rise due to additional rainfall and excess runoff.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1030 AM PST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
    indicated moderate to heavy rain. Flooding is already
    occurring in the warned area. Between 0.7 and 1.5 inches of
    rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the
    warned area.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Fremont, Union City and Sunol adjacent to Alameda Creek.

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH SATURDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
  possible.

* WHERE...San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Cruz, Monterey, Contra
  Costa, Alameda, Santa Clara, and portions of San Benito counties.

* WHEN...Through Saturday evening.

* IMPACTS...Heavy rain and excessive runoff may result in flooding
  of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone
  locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.
  Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Storm drains
  and ditches may become clogged with debris. Extensive street
  flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - Moderate to heavy rain associated with an Atmospheric River
    will impact the region today. Area rivers, streams and creeks
    that are prone to rapid rises will bring additional flooding
    concerns to the Central Coast where the heaviest rainfall is
    expected to impact the Santa Cruz Mountains and the Santa
    Lucia Range.

* WHAT...Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 55 mph
  expected. Isolated gusts up to 60 mph possible in the higher
  elevations.

* WHERE...The East Bay and San Francisco Bay Shoreline, Interior
  Central Coast, The Santa Clara Valley and Eastern Hills, North Bay
  Interior Mountains, and North Bay Interior Valleys.

* WHEN...Until 10 AM PST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree
  limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. The
  combination of wind and moist soils will increase the risk for
  downed trees.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
