This hazardous weather outlook is for eastern Utah and western
Colorado.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Showers will increase in coverage today as the first in a series
of systems passes through. Mostly rain is expected in the valleys,
except for snow across southwest Colorado this morning. Moderate
to heavy snow is expected in the mountains, particularly across
the south-facing slopes. Showers will slowly taper off from west
to east tonight, though scattered activity will linger along the
Divide into Tuesday.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday

Widespread showers will return to the region Tuesday afternoon as
the next system approaches from the west. Once again, moderate to
heavy snow is expected in the mountains, particularly across
south-facing slopes. Additionally, strong winds will result in
significantly reduced visibilities in blowing and drifting snow.
Colder air moves in Tuesday night and into Wednesday allowing
some valleys to transition to snow. Unsettled weather will
continue through the end of the week due to residual moisture and
additional disturbances approaching from the Pacific Northwest.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation is not expected today or tonight, however
spotters are encouraged to report snowfall amounts to the
National Weather Service in Grand Junction.
