This hazardous weather outlook is for eastern Utah and western
Colorado.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Critical fire weather conditions are expected this afternoon and
early this evening across areas south of I-70. Sub-freezing
temperatures are possible across portions of eastern Utah and
west-central Colorado tonight.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday

A strong, cold and slow system will arrive to the region beginning
late Saturday and continuing through early next week and looks to
bring widespread valley rain/snow mixes and mountain snow.

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 6 PM MDT THIS
EVENING FOR GUSTY WINDS, LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY AND DRY FUELS FOR
COLORADO FIRE WEATHER ZONES 207, 292, 295, AND UTAH FIRE WEATHER
ZONE 490...

The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a Red
Flag Warning for gusty winds, low relative humidity and dry
fuels, which is in effect from noon today to 6 PM MDT this
evening.

* AFFECTED AREA...In Colorado, Fire Weather Zone 207 Southwest
  Colorado Lower Forecast Area, Fire Weather Zone 292 North Fork
  Forecast Area and Fire Weather Zone 295 Southwest Colorado
  Upper East Forecast Area. In Utah, Fire Weather Zone 490
  Colorado River Basin.

* WINDS...West 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...10 to 15 percent.

* IMPACTS...Conditions will be favorable for the rapid ignition
  and spread of fires.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
