This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northwest Colorado, southwest
Colorado, west central Colorado, east central Utah, northeast Utah
and southeast Utah.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Light snow will continue through this morning over many mountain and
higher valley locations with minimal accumulations. Clearing skies
this evening will lead to very cold temperatures tonight, with the
most extreme being felt across many mountain and higher valley
locations where Extreme Cold Warnings are in effect tonight through
Tuesday morning. Very cold wind chills will be felt among some lower
valley locations where Cold Weather Advisories are also in effect.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

After a cold start Tuesday morning, temperatures gradually warm back
up mid to late week as the Arctic air mass exits the region. The next
potential chance of precipitation comes this weekend.

...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM THIS EVENING TO
9 AM MST TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 15 to 20 below expected.

* WHERE...Animas River Basin, Four Corners/Upper Dolores River, San
  Juan River Basin, Central Gunnison and Uncompahgre River Basin,
  and Debeque to Silt Corridor.

* WHEN...From 9 PM this evening to 9 AM MST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...The cold wind chills as low as 15 below zero could
  result in hypothermia or frostbite if precautions are not taken.
  Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is
  exposed to these temperatures.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
hat, and gloves.

Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make sure outdoor animals
have a warm, dry shelter, food, and unfrozen water.

Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.
