This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central Colorado. .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight Snow showers will continue in the mountains today. Banded showers may bring brief moderate to heavy snowfall rates. This will bring 4-12 inches over the higher mountains with the heavier amounts over Rabbit Ears and Cameron Passes. Valleys will pick up less with accumulations 1-3 inches. It will be breezy in the mountains as well with gusts peaking between 45-55 mph. In addition to slick roads, patchy blowing snow will be possible as well. Strong winds are also expected across the plains south of I-70 this afternoon. Areas such as Lincoln County may gust up to 55 mph this afternoon. Areas more north such as the Denver metro area may see gusts of 25-35 mph this later this afternoon. Winds and low relative humidity will elevate fire weather conditions with critical conditions in southern Lincoln County. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday An unsettled pattern will bring periods of mainly light snow showers to the mountains through Saturday. The plains will mostly be dry though a few light rain or snow showers are possible. It will also turn cooler and breezy on Saturday. A larger storm system is expected to cross the Rockies on Sunday or Monday, likely bringing colder temperatures with mountain snow and a chance of rain and snow to lower elevations. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
