The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has
issued the following...

WHAT...Ozone Action Day Alert.

WHERE...El Paso, Douglas, Jefferson, Denver, Arapahoe, Adams,
Broomfield, Boulder, Larimer, Weld Counties.

WHEN...7/18/2019 4:00:00 PM MDT to 7/19/2019 4:00:00 PM MDT

ADDITIONAL DETAILS...An Action Day for Ozone is now in effect for
the seven-county Denver- Boulder metropolitan area.  Requests to
limit driving are now in effect until at least 4 PM Friday, July
19, 2019.  Due to stagnate winds, abundant sunshine, and warm
temperatures, Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups levels of ozone are
likely across the Northern Front Range Urban Corridor on Friday,
including the Denver Metro Area, Boulder, Fort Collins, and
Greeley. For areas included in this advisory that are not expected
to exceed the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups (USG) air quality
designation, we request that activities, such as driving, be
reduced to lessen the impacts on neighboring air quality.
Additional air pollution in this region may directly diminish air
quality or contribute to precursors which may also adversely
affect air quality.  For Colorado air quality conditions,

HEALTH INFORMATION...Increasing likelihood of respiratory symptoms
and breathing discomfort in active children and adults and people
with lung disease, such as asthma. Active children and adults, and
people with lung disease, such as asthma, should reduce prolonged
or heavy outdoor exertion.

This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Hot and dry conditions are expected today with record breaking
temperatures possible with readings around 100 degrees across
lower elevations. There will be high fire danger today, especially
in the mountains and northern foothills with gusty westerly winds
and low humidities. Due to the dry airmass, no thunderstorms are
expected through tonight.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday

A break from the heat is expected this weekend as much cooler
temperatures will move in behind a cold front. The cold front will
bring more moisture and a better chance for thunderstorms over the
weekend. More seasonable temperatures and a continued chance of
afternoon and evening thunderstorms is expected Monday through


Spotter activation will not be needed today or tonight.
