Snow levels will remain around 9000 feet, with the heaviest snow over the high peaks, particularly across the southern Sangre de Cristos, which could see local accumulations of up to 6 inches. The remainder of the mountains should see 2 inches or less. Late this afternoon and this evening, scattered rain showers and a few embedded thunderstorms will be possible over the eastern plains, with the best chances for thunder along the I-25 corridor. If a storm can develop, the main threats will be cloud to ground lightning, gusty erratic winds up to 50 mph and pea size hail. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms will be possible for Wednesday through Saturday, especially over and near the mountains on Thursday. Strong to severe storms may be possible early next week. Light snow showers will also be possible along the highest peaks of the Continental Divide, mainly on Thursday. New snow amounts are expected to be light, generally under an inch, and will remain restricted to the higher peaks. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
