This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central...east
central...south central and southeast Colorado.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are forecast for this afternoon
and evening, mainly across the higher terrain, the Palmer Divide and
Raton Mesa, west of Interstate 25. The main thunderstorms risks
today will be lightning and outflow wind gusts 50 to 55 mph.
Thunderstorms will dissipate this evening.

Temperatures on the Plains will be hot this afternoon, with highs in
the upper 90s to lower 100s. Be sure to take precautions to protect
yourself from the heat.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday

Daily afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms are
expected Wednesday through Monday. Widespread thunderstorm
activity is anticipated across much of the area Wednesday through
Saturday, then a decrease in coverage is expected for Sunday and
Monday. There is also the threat of excessive rainfall on
Wednesday and Thursday across the eastern mountains and plains, so
flood-prone areas will need to be monitored closely.

The primary threat from any of the stronger storms will be gusty
outflow winds nearing 60 mph. Otherwise, the most likely hazards
with any organized storms will be gusty outflow winds around 40
mph, small hail, frequent cloud to ground lightning, and brief
periods of moderate to heavy rain.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Weather conditions that meet reporting criteria for spotters will
be possible over portions of the region.
