740 PM MDT Tue Mar 21 2023

This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central...east
central...south central and southeast Colorado.

.DAY ONE...Tonight

Snow will continue to fall heavy at times across the Continental
Divide with the heaviest snow falling across the eastern San Juan
mountains. Rounds of snow will spread into the Sangre De Cristo
mountains and the eastern Sawatch and western Mosquito range
overnight into Wednesday. Winds will increase overnight with gusts
over 50 mph spreading into the higher peaks late tonight and into
the adjacent I-25 corridor towards morning.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday

Moderate to heavy wind driven snow is expected to continue through
Wednesday night across the Continental Divide where strong winds
gusting up to 70 mph may cause white out conditions at times
across the passes. Travel may become difficult to impossible at
times, especially for Wolf Creek and Pass where additional
snowfall amounts of 2 to 4 feet will be possible. Isolated
embedded thunderstorms may cause localized heavy snow bursts.
Additional snowfall amounts of up to 20 inches can be expected
across the Sawatch range and the Sangre De Cristo mountains above
11000 feet. An additional 5 to 12 inches of snow will be possible
across the La Garita mountains, the lower elevations of the Sangre
De Cristo mountains and the western Mosquito range.

Damaging winds will spread across the San Luis Valley, Sangre De
Cristo and Wet mountains, Wet Mountain Valley, and southeast
plains on Wednesday. Westerly winds gusting up to 80 mph will be
possible across the mountains with gusts up to around 65 mph
across the lower elevations. These strong winds will combine with
low relative humidity leading to dangerous fire weather
conditions across the southeast plains. And strong winds may
cause areas of reduced visibility in blowing dust across the
plains. Dangerous cross winds are likely on north-south oriented
roadways.

Light to moderate snow is expected over the mountains Friday into
early next week. The best chances for snow along the eastern
mountains and southern I-25 corridor could come Saturday night.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Weather conditions that meet reporting criteria for spotters will
be likely over most of the region.
