A few showers and thunderstorms will be possible across southern portions of the state on Friday. A cooler and wetter weekend remains on tap across south central and southeast Colorado. A few strong storms will be possible across the far southeast plains Saturday afternoon, with more widespread rain developing across south central and into southeast Colorado late Saturday morning and afternoon. Rain and higher mountain snow, will continue to spread north and east across the eastern mountains and plains before lifting into northeastern Colorado late Saturday night and early Sunday morning. There is the potential for several inches of accumulating snow across the higher mountain peaks, generally above 12,000 feet, of the Central mountains into the Pikes Peak region by Sunday morning.
