.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Dangerous and near record heat continues today, with Heat
Advisories in place over El Paso, Pueblo, Crowley, Otero, Kiowa,
Bent, Prowers, and eastern Fremont counties from 10 AM through 8
PM tonight. Readings of 100 to 107 are expected across these
areas. Vulnerable populations and people needing to spend time
outdoors should drink plenty of fluids, wear loose fitting and
light colored clothing, and spend time in the shade and take
breaks in the air conditioning if possible. Please do not leave
people or animals unattended in vehicles today!

A Red Flag Warning for Dry Lightning has been issued for Lake,
Chaffee, and Teller counties, where dry conditions and isolated to
scattered thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and early
this evening. Fire starts from dry thunderstorms will be possible
in these areas today! Isolated showers and thunderstorms are
possible elsewhere across the district today as well, and will
likely produce more outflow winds, with gusts up to 50 mph, than
meaningful rainfall today, even outside of these areas.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday

Dangerous heat continues on Monday, with daytime readings in the
upper 90s to around 106 degrees across the plains.

Showers and thunderstorms will become more numerous from Monday
through the end of the work week. Showers and thunderstorms are
expected to return to the plains from Tuesday through Thursday,
with some storms capable of producing heavy rainfall along with
the potential for flash flooding.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Weather conditions that meet reporting criteria for spotters will
be possible over portions of the region.
