This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central...east
central...south central and southeast Colorado.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Snow showers will continue across the higher terrain today, picking
up in intensity through the afternoon. New snow accumulations of 2
to 4 inches are expected, primarily focused across the higher
elevations of the central mountains, eastern San Juan Mountains, and
the northern Sangre de Cristo Mountains.

Light snow will begin across El Paso County this afternoon, then a
possible mixture of light snow, freezing drizzle and freezing fog
will spread south across all of the eastern plains through the late
afternoon and evening into the overnight hours. The focus area for
this wintry mix will be along the eastern slopes of the Rampart
Range, eastern Fremont and western Pueblo counties, and the eastern
slopes of the Wet Mountains. Though new snow amounts are forecast to
be light, generally under an inch, this mix of winter weather could
lead to slick spots on roads and hazardous travel conditions.

Extremely cold wind chill temperatures are expected overnight
tonight across the eastern plains, especially across Kiowa, Bent and
Prowers counties where wind chill readings of 20 below zero are
forecast.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday

Cold temperatures will persist for Sunday and Monday across the
plains while periods of light snow continue across the mountain
areas. Additional accumulations of 2 to 5 inches will be possible
along the Continental Divide through Monday. Meanwhile, flurries,
fog and light snow will continue off and on across the southeast
plain where additional accumulations will remain under an inch.
Breezy east winds at times will lead to wind chill readings as
cold as 20 below zero across portions of the southeast plains
Sunday morning and again Sunday night into Monday morning.

Additional light snow will continue Monday night through Tuesday
night across the mountains. Temperatures will begin a slow warm up
across the plains through Tuesday with a more noticeable warm up
for mid to late week for all areas.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Weather conditions that meet reporting criteria for spotters will
be likely over portions of the region.
