...FREEZE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO 9 AM
MDT SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 27 expected.

* WHERE...Southeastern Colorado Plains.

* WHEN...From midnight tonight to 9 AM MDT Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops, other
  sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor
  plumbing.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The coldest temperatures are expected
  along the Lower Arkansas River Valley with mid to upper 20s
  expected. For higher elevations of the Palmer Divide, west of
  Interstate 25, and over the Raton Mesa, will see temperatures
  in the lower 30s.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent
freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should
be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have
in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-
ground pipes to protect them from freezing.

This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central...east
central...south central and southeast Colorado.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Temperatures will fall into the mid 20s to lower 30s tonight across
the Plains.  The coldest temperatures are expected in the Lower
Arkansas River Valley, while higher elevations of the Palmer
Divide, west of Interstate 25, and Raton Mesa will see lower 30s.
Those with sensitive outdoor plants and exposed pipes should take
precautions to prevent damage.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday

Critical Fire Weather conditions will be possible on Monday as
winds increase and humidity levels drop below critical thresholds
during the afternoon ahead of the next storm system. This storm
system may bring some light snow to the central mountains and a
cold front through the southeast plains on Tuesday.

Weather spotters will not be needed today or tonight.
