This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central...east
central...south central and southeast Colorado.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Light freezing drizzle has been observed over northern El Paso
County early this morning. Freezing drizzle is possible through
the morning hours.

Critical fire weather conditions are expected over the Continental
Divide, the upper Arkansas River Valley, and the San Luis Valley
this afternoon.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday

For Saturday, Critical Fire Weather conditions are expected to
occur across a good part of the region, and a RED FLAG WARNING is
in effect for all of the southern mountains, the San Luis Valley
and the southern I-25 corridor region. Strong gusty winds and low
humidity values will allow for rapid fire spread if a fire were to
start.

A strong cold front will move across the region Saturday night and
this front will usher in very cold air into the region. This
sharply colder airmass will last through Tuesday morning. Along
with the colder air, snow will be likely across nearly all of the
region, with accumulating snow expected along the I-25 corridor
region, and all of the mountains and valleys. The heaviest snow is
expected to occur across the southwest mountains were a couple
feet of snow will be possible. The highest impacts associated with
the snow will occur Sunday night and Monday. Winter driving
conditions are likely for Monday mornings commute.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Weather conditions that meet reporting criteria for spotters will be
possible this morning over northern El Paso County.
