This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the Maryland portion of the
Chesapeake Bay, Tidal Potomac River, and adjacent counties in
central Maryland and northern Virginia as well as the District of
Columbia.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Minor flooding is occurring on the Bull Run near Manassas. A flood
warning is in effect.

A Wind Advisory is in effect for northern, central and southern
Maryland as well as portions of northern Virginia today.

A Wind Chill Advisory is in effect beginning at 10 PM this evening
for the entire outlook area.

A Gale Warning is in effect for all waters today and tonight.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday

The Wind Chill Advisory continues until 11 AM Monday.

The Gale Warning continues for all waters until 4 PM Monday.

The combination of moderate to heavy rain, along with snowmelt and
ice melt, has the potential to produce flooding during the second
half of the upcoming week.

...WIND ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EST THIS EVENING...

* TIMING...This morning through early evening today. Highest
  gusts will be during the initial cold front passage this
  morning, and then again during the afternoon.

* WINDS...Northwest 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds may blow down limbs, trees, and power
  lines. Scattered power outages are expected.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 45 to 55 mph are expected.
Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles.

...WIND CHILL ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING
TO 11 AM EST MONDAY...

* WHAT...Very cold wind chills expected. Wind chills between 5 and
  15 below zero expected.

* WHERE...The District of Columbia, much of central and southern
  Maryland, central and northern Virginia including the Shenandoah
  Valley, and the eastern panhandle of West Virginia.

* WHEN...From 10 PM this evening to 11 AM EST Monday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The cold wind chills could cause
  frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Wind Chill Advisory means that cold air and the wind will
combine to create low wind chills. Frostbite and hypothermia can
occur if precautions are not taken. Make sure you wear a hat and
gloves.
