This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the Maryland portion of the
Chesapeake Bay, Tidal Potomac River, and adjacent counties in
central Maryland and northern Virginia as well as the District of
Columbia.

.DAY ONE...Tonight

A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for the greater Washington
and Baltimore Metropolitan areas this evening for pockets of
freezing rain.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday

Rain is expected Saturday through early Sunday. The rain may be
heavy at times. Excess runoff from already saturated soils may
cause flooding of small streams and urban areas Saturday into
Sunday.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotters are asked to reports significant wintry weather via
normal operating procedures.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM EST THIS
EVENING...

* WHAT...Areas of freezing rain and freezing drizzle. Additional
  ice accumulations of up to one tenth of an inch.

* WHERE...The District of Columbia, and portions of central and
  northern Maryland and northern Virginia.

* WHEN...Until 10 PM EST this evening.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on slippery road conditions.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of freezing rain
will cause travel difficulties. Expect slippery roads and limited
visibilities, and use caution while driving.

When venturing outside, watch your first few steps taken on
steps, sidewalks, and driveways, which could be icy and slippery,
increasing your risk of a fall and injury.
