There is a high risk of rip currents at area beaches. Rough surf is expected. Entering the water is strongly discouraged. .MARINE THUNDERSTORM GUST IMPACT... An isolated shower capable of producing winds of 34 knots or greater cannot be ruled out over the Atlantic waters and near the east central Florida coast. These gusty showers could drift onshore into the Intracoastal waters into the overnight and early morning hours. .WIND AND SEA IMPACT... A Small Craft Advisory continues for all of the local Atlantic waters due to northeast winds around 20 knots and seas up to 6 to 9 feet. .RIVER FLOOD IMPACT... The Saint Johns River near Astor will continue within Moderate Flood stage through at least late week, then start to slowly decline late this week and into the weekend. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY. Scattered lightning storms will return midweek. Any stronger storms that develop will have the potential to produce brief gusty winds and frequent lightning strikes. At least a Moderate Risk of rip currents and rough surf will continue through midweek. Use caution at the beach. Winds and seas are forecast to remain elevated into the middle of this week, before decreasing into late week. As a result, poor to hazardous boating conditions are forecast across the local Atlantic waters, especially well offshore. The St Johns River at Astor is forecast to remain in Moderate Flood Stage through the end of the work week.
