Isolated late afternoon showers and lightning storms are possible today near and west of a line from around Deleon Springs to Sanford, Orlando, Kenansville, and Okeechobee. The threat will linger over Lake County for another hour or two past sunset. Brief wind gusts to 40 mph, cloud to ground lightning strikes, and heavy downpours are possible should any storms occur today. Move indoors if skies begin to look threatening, or you hear thunder. .MARINE THUNDERSTORM GUST IMPACT... Brief wind gusts to 35 knots could occur from Lake George south across the Kissimmee Lake chain, and to the northern tip of Lake Okeechobee, including the Kissimmee River. .RIP CURRENT IMPACT... A Moderate risk of dangerous rip currents continues at the central Florida Atlantic beaches. While rip currents will be present all day, they will be most numerous until 12 noon, and again after 630 PM this evening. Remember to swim only within sight of a lifeguard and never enter the ocean alone. .EXCESSIVE HEAT IMPACT... Heat index values will once again reach the upper 90s west of I-95 during the mid to late afternoon. If engaged in any outdoor work or recreational activity, remain well-hydrated, and take indoor rest breaks as needed. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY. Isolated to locally scattered afternoon showers and storms are forecast over the interior into late week. Storm chances are expected to increase areawide Friday through this weekend. Cloud to ground lightning strikes, torrential rainfall, and gusty winds will be possible in any stronger storms. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
