Isolated shower or lightning storms are possible today between about 6 and 10 PM in Lake County, possibly adjacent far western sections of Volusia, Seminole, Orange, and Osceola Counties. Brief wind gusts to 40 mph, cloud to ground lightning strikes, and heavy downpours are possible should any storms occur today. Move indoors if skies begin to look threatening, or you hear thunder. .RIP CURRENT IMPACT... A Moderate risk of dangerous rip currents continues at the central Florida Atlantic beaches today. While rip currents will be present all day, they will be most numerous between 7 AM and 1 PM, and again after 730 PM this evening due to tidal effects. Remember to swim only within sight of a lifeguard and never enter the ocean alone. .MARINE THUNDERSTORM GUST IMPACT... Brief wind gusts to 35 knots could occur on area lakes from greater Leesburg and Lake Apopka southward through the Kissimmee Lake chain, including the Kissimmee River. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY. Isolated to locally scattered afternoon showers and storms are forecast Wednesday and Thursday west of Lake George and greater Orlando. Storm chances will increase areawide Friday through this weekend, ahead of an approaching cool front. Cloud to ground lightning strikes, torrential rainfall, and gusty winds will be possible in any stronger storms which develop, especially from Friday onward.
