This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for Atlantic coastal waters, southeast Florida, southern Florida, southwest Florida and Gulf of Mexico. .DAY ONE...Today and tonight. Heat: Peak heat index values of 105 to 110 degrees will be possible from late morning into the afternoon across most of the area. A Heat Advisory is in effect for Palm Beach, Broward, Miami-Dade, Mainland Monroe, and Collier counties through 6PM. Thunderstorms: Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected this afternoon across South Florida, with the highest chances over interior and east coast metro areas. Gusty winds, lightning strikes, and heavy rainfall are possible with the strongest storms. Rip Currents: There is a moderate risk for rip currents along the Palm Beaches. Coastal Flooding: Minor coastal flooding associated with enhanced astronomical tides (King tides) will be possible starting with today`s high tide cycles today. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday. Scattered thunderstorms will be possible daily, with primary threats of gusty winds, frequent lightning, and heavy downpours. Peak heat index values will remain near 105 degrees through the early week period. There will be an elevated risk for rip currents for the Atlantic beaches through the early week period as high amplitude northerly swell moves into the area.
