.NOW...
Through 500 am, a few isolated showers and thunderstorms will wax
and wane across the Lower and Middle Keys, the Florida Straits south
and southeast of the island chain, as well as Hawk Channel near the
Lower and Middle Keys and the nearshore and deep Gulf north of the
Lower Keys. This activity will drift generally to the southwest at
near 5 knots, though individual cell motion is somewhat chaotic due
to the slow movement. The strongest activity will produce heavy
downpours limiting visibility, wind gusts to near 25 knots, and
possible occasional lightning strikes. A few Lower and Middle Keys
island communities may receive up to a tenth of an inch of rainfall
accumulation, with up to a half inch in any thunderstorm.
