.NOW...
Through 1230 am, isolated showers and thunderstorms spread across
the Florida Straits and Hawk Channel south of the Lower and Middle
Keys will continue to move northwest to north at 10 to 15 knots as
they wax and wane. Some of these showers may cross the Lower and
Middle Keys. Additional showers and potential thunderstorms over the
western Florida Straits and outer Gulf, including the Dry Tortugas,
will move generally west to northwest at 5 to 10 knots. Mariners
encountering this activity can expect moderate to blinding downpours
limiting visibility, wind gusts to near 25 knots, and brief bouts of
lightning. Lower and Middle Keys island communities may receive wind
gusts up to 25 mph and anywhere from a few hundreths to as much as a
quarter inch of rainfall.
