Through 1200 am, isolated showers and potentially isolated thunderstorms continue to wax and wane along portions of the Island Chain, the surrounding nearshore waters, as well as the eastern Straits of Florida and the offshore Gulf waters north of the Lower Keys. This activity will continue to move to the south to southwest at near 5 knots. Mariners encountering this activity can expect brief heavy downpours, wind gusts to near 25 knots, and occasional lightning strikes. On land, any shower or storm will be capable of producing a quick quarter to a half inch of rainfall due to the slow movement as well as wind gusts of 25 to 30 mph. $$ MJV
