...HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE THURSDAY NIGHT...

* WHAT...Dangerous rip currents expected.

* WHERE...Gulf and Franklin County Beaches.

* WHEN...Through late Thursday night.

* IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away
  from shore into deeper water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Southerly winds will increase across the
  eastern Gulf through Thursday morning, forcing a steady increase
  in the risk of rip currents. The rip current risk will peak on
  Thursday, but it will take until Saturday morning to get past
  this dangerous stretch of conditions for swimmers.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don`t swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.
