PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Rip currents are powerful channels of water flowing quickly away from shore, which occur most often at low spots or breaks in the sandbar and in the vicinity of structures such as jetties and piers. Heed the advice of lifeguards, beach patrol flags and signs. Entering the surf is strongly discouraged. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don`t swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help. && $$

A high risk of life-threatening rip currents exists at all central Florida Atlantic beaches. Entering the water is highly discouraged. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don`t swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help. .WIND AND SEA IMPACT... Small craft should exercise caution across the Gulf Stream waters for seas up to 6 feet today and up to 7 ft tonight. .FIRE WEATHER IMPACT... Critical relative humidity values are forecast today, especially from Okeechobee and Osceola counties northward. However, lighter winds will help to reduce the overall fire danger. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday. A high risk of rip currents will continue at area beaches on Thursday. Boating conditions will become hazardous Thursday night into Friday behind a strong cold front. Lack of appreciable rainfall, combined with periods of low humidity and or gusty winds, will produce fire weather sensitive conditions late this week. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation will not be needed today and tonight.
