...HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE SUNDAY NIGHT...

* WHAT...Dangerous rip currents.

* WHERE...Coastal Volusia, Coastal Indian River, Coastal Saint
  Lucie, Coastal Martin, Mainland Northern Brevard, Northern
  Brevard Barrier Islands, Mainland Southern Brevard and
  Southern Brevard Barrier Islands Counties.

* WHEN...Through late Sunday night.

* IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away
  from shore into deeper water.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Rip currents are powerful channels of water flowing quickly away
from shore, which occur most often at low spots or breaks in the
sandbar and in the vicinity of structures such as jetties and
piers. Heed the advice of lifeguards, beach patrol flags and
signs.

Entering the surf is strongly discouraged. If caught in a rip
current, relax and float. Don`t swim against the current. If
able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to
escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for east central Florida.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

.RIP CURRENT AND SURF IMPACT...
A high risk of life-threatening rip currents exists at all
central Florida Atlantic beaches. Entering the water is highly
discouraged. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don`t
swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following
the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or
wave for help.

.WIND AND SEA IMPACT...
Boating conditions will remain poor to hazardous overnight, with
seas of 4 to 7 feet. Small Craft Advisories are in effect for the
offshore (20-60nm) Brevard County and Treasure Coast waters. Small
craft should continue to exercise caution across the nearshore
Brevard and Treasure Coast waters as well as the offshore Volusia
waters for choppy 6 foot seas. The nearshore Volusia waters will
remain just below cautionary statement thresholds, with seas
remaining around 4 to 5 feet overnight.

.RIVER FLOOD IMPACT...
The St. Johns River continues a gradual decline, remaining in
Moderate Flood Stage at Astor and in Minor Flood Stage near Lake
Harney, Deland, and Sanford. Interests along the St. Johns River
near these points should continue to anticipate minor to moderate
flood impacts for the foreseeable future.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.
Boating and surf conditions are forecast to remain poor to
hazardous through the weekend which includes a High Risk of rip
currents. Marine conditions are expected to become increasingly
hazardous into next week.

Breezy onshore flow will continue through the weekend before
increasing, with breezy to windy conditions forecast early next
week.

Scattered showers return into mid week as moisture increases.
Periods of locally heavy rainfall will be possible on Wednesday.

  St Johns River Near Deland affecting Lake and Volusia Counties.

.The Saint Johns River at Deland is forecast to continue a steady
decline through Minor Flood stage over the next week. Residents and
interests along the St. Johns River at Deland should continue to
expect prolonged flood impacts.

For the St. Johns River...including Deland ...Minor flooding is
forecast.

  - At 10:30 AM EDT Saturday the stage was 4.6 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 3.5 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 10:30 AM EDT Saturday was 4.7 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 4.6
    feet this afternoon.
  - Flood stage is 4.0 feet.

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Florida...

  St Johns River Near Astor affecting Lake and Volusia Counties.

.Breezy onshore winds have slowed the rate of declining water levels
on the St Johns River at Astor, but a very gradual decline through
Moderate Flood Stage over the next week remains forecast. Residents
and interests along the Saint Johns River should continue to expect
prolonged flood impacts.

For the St. Johns River...including Astor...Moderate flooding is
forecast.

  forecast.

* WHERE...St Johns River near Astor.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 3.5 feet, Canals have overflowed into yards. Homes on
  or near Wildhog, Bonnet and Snail roads become inaccessible with
  several inches of water inside homes along the river and canals.
  Docks at Astor Bridge marina and throughout Astor are completely
  submerged. Bartram Rd and Holiday Circle are inaccessible with
  yards completely submerged. Clair Street is inaccessible. Roads
  flooded in South Moon Fish Camp, docks and yards at condominiums
  on Juno Trail and water breaches the sea wall at Blair`s Jungle
  Den.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 10:30 AM EDT Saturday the stage was 3.3 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 2.0 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 10:30 AM EDT Saturday was 3.4 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to remain steady above flood
    stage at 3.3 feet.
  - Flood stage is 2.3 feet.
