...HIGH SURF ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EST TUESDAY...
...HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK NOW IN EFFECT THROUGH 7 PM EST
TUESDAY...

The National Weather Service in Tampa Bay Ruskin has issued a
High Surf Advisory, which is in effect until 7 PM EST Tuesday.

* RIP CURRENT TIMING...Increasing wave action will create rip
  currents tonight and Tuesday.

* RIP CURRENT IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best
swimmers away from shore into deeper water. Strong longshore
currents can quickly move swimmers southward down the beach.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Rip currents are powerful channels of water flowing quickly away
from shore...which occur most often at low spots or breaks in the
sandbar and in the vicinity of structures such as groins...
jetties and piers. For maximum safety...swim near a lifeguard.
Pay attention to flags and signs.

If you become caught in a rip current...yell for help. Remain
calm...do not exhaust yourself and stay afloat while waiting for
help. If you have to swim out of a rip current...swim parallel to
shore and back toward the beach when possible. Do not attempt to
swim directly against a rip current as you will tire quickly.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for West Central And Southwest
Florida.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

...EXCESSIVE COLD IMPACT...
Early this morning the cooler temperatures combined with the
breezy northwest to north winds will cause wind chill values to
dip into the upper 20s and lower 30s across the Nature Coast, with
mid to upper 30s around the Interstate 4 corridor and 40s
elsewhere. If you have plans to be outdoors early this morning be
sure to dress in layers to stay warm.

...RIP CURRENT IMPACT...
High surf will produce rip currents along area beaches today.

...MARINE IMPACTS...
Wind speeds around 20 knots with higher gusts will create
hazardous boating conditions for small craft operators today.
Winds will begin to subside some this afternoon, but seas will
take a little longer.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

...EXCESSIVE COLD IMPACT...
Late tonight into early Wednesday freezing temperatures are
expected across much of the Nature Coast along with patchy frost
southward over inland portions of central Florida. If you have
outdoor plans be sure to dress in layers to protect yourself from
the cold. Frost and freezing temperatures can kill crops, other
sensitive vegetation, and possibly damage unprotected outdoor
plumbing.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation will not be needed today.
