This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for east central Florida.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

.EXCESSIVE HEAT IMPACT...
Unseasonably warm and near record temperatures are forecast across
east central Florida this afternoon with highs in the low to mid 80s
along and east of I-95, and upper 80s expected westward into the
interior. If working or recreating outdoors, take frequent breaks
out of the sun and drink plenty of water. Protect yourself from the
sun by wearing sunscreen and a hat, especially during the hottest
part of the day.

.RIP CURRENT AND SURF IMPACT...
A strong northward-flowing longshore current exists at all central
Florida Atlantic beaches today. In addition, a Moderate risk for
life-threatening rip currents continues. Remember to always swim
near a lifeguard and never enter the water alone.

.WIND AND SEA IMPACT...
Southerly winds will increase to 15 to 20 knots over the Gulf Stream
during the afternoon. Small craft should Exercise Caution here.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.
At least a Moderate risk of dangerous rip currents will continue
through this week.

Temperatures will warm to well above normal and to near record
values on Thursday with afternoon highs in the mid 80s to near 90
degrees forecast. There is a low risk of heat-related illness
especially for those sensitive to heat and for those who are not
acclimated to the abnormally warm temperatures during the winter
season.

Patchy fog is forecast Thursday morning. The potential exists for
visibility reductions to 1 mile or less at times across portions of
east central Florida mainly between 3AM and 9AM.

...BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE
TONIGHT...

* WHAT...A strong northward-flowing longshore current will exist
  at all central Florida Atlantic beaches today, in addition a
  Moderate Risk for dangerous rip currents.

* WHERE...Coastal Volusia, Coastal Indian River, Coastal Saint
  Lucie, Coastal Martin, Mainland Northern Brevard, Northern
  Brevard Barrier Islands, Mainland Southern Brevard and
  Southern Brevard Barrier Islands Counties.

* WHEN...Through late tonight.

* IMPACTS...The northward-flowing current will have the potential
  to pull swimmers into deeper water and make them more
  susceptible to dangerous rip currents. It will also generate
  strong rip currents near piers, jetties, and reefs.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don`t swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.
