...HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK ALONG ATLANTIC BEACHES...

This hazardous weather outlook is for South Florida.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

Rip currents: Moderate onshore winds and slightly elevated surf will
result in a high rip current risk along Atlantic beaches.

Thunderstorms: Isolated thunderstorms are expected over inland and
coastal sections of Southwest Florida this afternoon.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY

Isolated storms across the west coast of Florida are expected through
mid-week. Then, coverage should begin to increase across all of south
Florida. The heightened threat for rip currents will continue through
at least mid-week.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation will not be needed.

...HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Dangerous rip currents.

* WHERE...Coastal Broward, Coastal Palm Beach and Coastal Miami-
  Dade Counties.

* WHEN...Through at least this evening.

* IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away
  from shore into deeper water.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don`t swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.
