This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for Atlantic coastal waters,
southeast Florida, southern Florida, southwest Florida and Gulf of
Mexico.

.DAY ONE...This afternoon and tonight.

Heat: Heat index values of 107 to 112 degrees will be possible from
late morning into the afternoon across most of the area. A Heat
Advisory is in effect for the entire area from 10AM to 6PM today.

Thunderstorms: Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are
expected this afternoon across South Florida. These storms will be
capable of producing heavy rainfall, frequent lightning, and gusty
winds.

Flooding: With slow moving storms containing heavy downpours, there
will be the potential for localized flooding mainly over low-lying
and poor drainage areas, particularly portions of the East Coast
metro.

Rip Currents: There is a moderate risk for rip currents along the
Palm Beaches and Gulf Coast beaches today.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

Scattered to numerous thunderstorms will be possible each day, with
primary threats of gusty winds, frequent lightning, and heavy
downpours.

The risk for rip currents will remain elevated for the Palm Beaches
into the weekend.

Peak heat index values will remain elevated through the weekend and
may reach advisory level criteria at times.

THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Peak heat index values 105 to 110 degrees today.

* WHERE...Glades, Hendry, Coastal Collier County, and Inland
  Collier County Counties.

* WHEN...From 10 AM this morning to 6 PM EDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
  illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out
of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young
children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles
under any circumstances.

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when
possible. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational
Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent
rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone
overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location.
