PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Rip currents are powerful channels of water flowing quickly away from shore, which occur most often at low spots or breaks in the sandbar and in the vicinity of structures such as jetties and piers. A high risk of life-threatening rip currents continues at area beaches, as well as rough surf, especially near and north of Cape Canaveral. .WIND AND SEA IMPACT... While northwest winds continue slow tonight, seas and swell remain elevated. Hazardous boating conditions will persist over the coastal waters, especially offshore, through tonight. .RIVER FLOOD IMPACT... The river level at the Saint Johns River at Astor remains in Minor Flood Stage and is approaching 2.4 feet, due to northerly winds. The river is expected to continue to slowly rise tonight, remaining in Minor Flood Stage, before decreasing Sunday night into Tuesday. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY. Boating conditions will remain poor into Sunday morning, as seas up to 6 feet linger offshore. A Moderate to High Risk of dangerous rip currents will continue at all east central Florida Atlantic beaches through the remainder of the holiday weekend.
