This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northeast Georgia, Piedmont
North Carolina, western North Carolina and Upstate South Carolina.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Scattered to numerous thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and
evening. A few storms could become strong to severe, capable of
producing damaging wind gusts. Heavy rainfall is also possible with
any shower or thunderstorm that develops, and may lead to localized
flash flooding, especially in urban areas as well as poor drainage
and low-lying areas.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

No hazardous weather is expected at this time.

...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHEASTERN RABUN...
SOUTHEASTERN MACON...SOUTH CENTRAL JACKSON AND NORTH CENTRAL OCONEE
COUNTIES THROUGH 300 PM EDT...

At 221 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 14
miles southeast of Franklin, or over Highlands. This storm was nearly
stationary.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Highlands, Dillard, Sky Valley, Cashiers, Lake Glenville, Lake
Jocassee, Scaly Mountain, Otto, Bad Creek, and Pine Mountain.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
