This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of northern Iowa.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight

Very high to extreme fire weather conditions are expected this
afternoon. A Red Flag Warning is in effect for the area. Please
refer to the National Weather Service website at
weather.gov/desmoines for further details.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday

Thunderstorms are likely Monday night into Tuesday. Some storms
may be strong to severe over western Iowa late Monday afternoon
and Monday night with large hail the primary threat. Additional
strong to severe storms will be possible Tuesday as well.
Information on individual threats for that time will be better
known in the coming days.

A few other non-severe thunderstorms are possible Wednesday.

.The combination of gusty south winds, dry long grass fuels, and
relative humidity values falling to as low as 25 to 30 percent
will result in a very high to extreme fire danger across parts of
north central Iowa this afternoon and early evening.

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 7 PM CDT THIS
EVENING FOR VERY HIGH TO EXTREME FIRE DANGER FOR PORTIONS OF
NORTHERN IOWA...

The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a Red Flag
Warning, which is in effect from noon today to 7 PM CDT this
evening. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

* AFFECTED AREA...Portions of northern Iowa

* WIND...South 20 to 25 mph with gusts 30 to 35 mph

* HUMIDITY...As low as 25 to 30 percent

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
  Outdoor burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
