* WHERE...Much of northern and northeastern Iowa.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
  illnesses.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Heat impacts will be worsened by several
  consecutive days of sweltering temperatures.

A Heat Advisory is in effect for the area. Please refer to the
National Weather Service website at weather.gov/desmoines for
further details.

Gusty south southwest winds up to 40 mph are expected today.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday

Thunderstorm chances return to the forecast at intervals through
the beginning of this week. Severe weather and heavy rainfall are
possible, especially on Monday, with gusty winds and hail being
the main concerns. Flash flooding and local river rises may occur
due to heavy rainfall.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...The Cedar River at Cedar Falls, or from the West Fork
  Cedar River to the Cedar Falls-Waterloo city limits.

* WHEN...Until tomorrow morning.

* IMPACTS...At 88.8 feet, Water affects the north and south legs of
  Cottage Row Rd south of Snag Creek.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 9:45 AM CDT Sunday the stage was 88.5 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 89.0
    feet this evening. It will then fall below flood stage just
    after midnight tonight.
  - Flood stage is 89.0 feet.
