This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of north central
Illinois...northwest Illinois...west central Illinois...east
central Iowa...northeast Iowa...southeast Iowa and northeast
Missouri.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT

A freeze warning is in effect for the entire outlook area from
midnight to 9 AM Wednesday. Widespread temperatures in the mid to upper
20s are expected.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY

Another freeze is likely Wednesday night into Thursday morning
with widespread temperatures dropping into the mid to upper 20s.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation will not be needed through tonight.

...FREEZE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO 9 AM
CDT WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 27 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of east central and northeast Iowa and
  northwest Illinois.

* WHEN...From midnight tonight to 9 AM CDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops, other
  sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor
  plumbing.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Another night of sub-freezing
  temperatures is likely Wednesday night into early Thursday
  morning.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent
freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should
be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have
in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-
ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
