central Iowa...northeast Iowa...southeast Iowa and northeast
Missouri.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

Hot and humid conditions will be over the area through early this
evening, with heat index readings topping between 100 and 105 degrees.
A Heat Advisory is in effect through 8 PM.

Scattered thunderstorms are possible this morning, with lightning
the primary risk.

The storm prediction center is forecasting a marginal risk, level
1 of 5, over areas north of a Washington Iowa to Galesburg
Illinois this afternoon. Damaging winds are the primary threat
during the afternoon and evening, with isolated heavy rainfall.
Overall, there is low confidence on afternoon storms today, but if
they do form, there will be a lot of energy to create strong
storms.

Area rivers are experiencing flooding. Please see the
latest Flood Statements and Flood Warnings for details.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY

Very Hot and humid conditions will continue Monday. Afternoon
heat index values in the 100 to 110 degree range are expected.

Isolated storms could develop on Monday and could be strong to
severe. A widespread chance for storms exists Monday night when a
strong cold front moves into the area. There is a slight risk,
level 2 of 5, for areas generally along and north of Interstate
80, and a marginal, level 1 of 5, risk farther south. At this
time, the primary risks appear to be heavy rainfall and damaging
winds Monday night, but isolated tornadoes and large hail are
possible.

Tuesday, rain and thunderstorms will end in southern areas by
afternoon, with dry weather spreading for the rest of the week,
along with much cooler temperatures.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation is possible today and tonight.

GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:

To the southeast 30 mph this morning, and east at 30 mph this
