This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of north central
Illinois...northwest Illinois...west central Illinois...east
central Iowa...northeast Iowa...southeast Iowa and northeast
Missouri.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

Increasing south winds today along with decreasing relative
humidity values will lead to a very high grassland fire danger
this afternoon. Any fires that occur may be difficult to control.

Thunderstorms with lightning and small hail will be possible
across the area late tonight.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY

The threat for severe storms has increased for Friday afternoon
and early evening, with most of our area now in a Moderate Risk,
or level 4 out of 5, of severe storms. The main hazards will be
damaging straight line winds of 70 mph, tornadoes, and large hail.
Tornadoes could be strong in nature.

Strong westerly winds are expected after the severe weather
threat ends Friday night, with gusts up to 45 mph. These strong
gusts should last through Saturday morning.

Before the storms arrive Friday, a very high grassland fire danger
is forecast with the warm temperatures and strong winds. Any
fires that occur may be difficult to control.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation will not be needed today or tonight, but is
expected Friday afternoon and evening.
