This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of north central
Illinois...northwest Illinois...west central Illinois...east
central Iowa...northeast Iowa...southeast Iowa and northeast
Missouri.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT

There is a chance for thunderstorms tonight across the outlook
area with the main concern gusty winds. The most likely timing
for storms is after midnight into early Friday morning and the
areal coverage is anticipated to remain low.

The Wapsipinicon River at De Witt is flooding. Please see the
latest Flood Statements for details.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY

Sunday through Thursday, daily chances for thunderstorms are
expected. Heavy rain and possible flooding are the primary threats
during this period. Severe weather chances are going to be
difficult to predict more than a few days out in this pattern.

Spotter activation is possible tonight into early Friday morning.

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Iowa...

  Wapsipinicon River near De Witt 4S affecting Scott and Clinton
  Counties.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL SUNDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
  forecast.

* WHERE...Wapsipinicon River near De Witt 4S.

* WHEN...Until Sunday evening.

* IMPACTS...At 11.5 feet, Moderate Flood Stage. Water affects homes
  along old U.S. Highway 61.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 7:30 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 11.5 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 11.7
    feet tomorrow morning. It will then fall below flood stage
    early Sunday morning.
  - Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
