This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of north central
Illinois...northwest Illinois...west central Illinois...east
central Iowa...northeast Iowa...southeast Iowa and northeast
Missouri.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT

Strong southerly winds are expected today, gusting between 35 to
45 mph during the afternoon and evening.

For this afternoon into tonight, the Storm Prediction Center has
an Enhanced Risk, or level 3 of 5, for severe thunderstorms along
and northwest of a line from Sterling, IL to Memphis, MO, with a
Slight Risk, or level 2 of 5, to the southeast. All severe
weather hazards are possible if storms can develop, including
damaging winds, large hail, and tornadoes. Confidence remains low
on the coverage of storms with this event and many areas may get
missed.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY

There is a chance for thunderstorms on Wednesday. No strong to
severe storms are expected at this time.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation may be needed this afternoon into tonight.

increased in duration for the following rivers in Iowa...

  Wapsipinicon River near De Witt 4S affecting Clinton and Scott
  Counties.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT FROM THIS EVENING TO SUNDAY
AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Wapsipinicon River near De Witt 4S.

* WHEN...From this evening to Sunday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 11.5 feet, Moderate Flood Stage. Water affects homes
  along old U.S. Highway 61.
  At 12.0 feet, overbank flooding occurs. Water affects residences
  along the river between Wheatland and Calamus. Water affects
  businesses along the river near Calamus.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 9:30 AM CDT Monday the stage was 10.8 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    this evening to a crest of 11.9 feet Friday evening. It will
    then fall below flood stage late Sunday morning.
  - Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
