It may drop briefly in minor flood stage depending on how much rain occurs today and Sunday. We remain in a wet pattern, especially through mid week. Several models are showing moderate to heavy rainfall Monday and Tuesday afternoon. Big Lost River below Mackay Reservoir affecting Custer County. .High mountain snowmelt and recent heavy rainfall has increased river flows upstream of the reservoir and has caused additional releases below the reservoir causing the river flows to become high. Expect minor flooding downstream from the dam. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. We remain in a wet weather pattern. Today and tomorrow afternoon into early evening models are showing lighter rainfall. However, Monday and Tuesday in the afternoon/early evening models continue to show moderate to heavy rainfall. This will likely result in higher river inflows into the reservoir. Wednesday through Friday models are still showing afternoon rainfall but rainfall amounts look to be fairly light.
