This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of north central
Illinois...northeast Illinois and northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

  Limited Thunderstorm Risk.

DISCUSSION...

There is a slight chance (around 15%) for an isolated
thunderstorms over northeast Illinois and northwest Indiana this
afternoon, mainly east of a Crystal Lake to Kankakee and
Lafayette line.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

  Limited Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
     Level 1 of 5 Severe Thunderstorm Risk.
Saturday and Sunday...
  Elevated Excessive Heat Risk.
Monday...
  Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
  Elevated Excessive Heat Risk.
Tuesday and Wednesday...
  Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
  Limited Excessive Heat Risk.

DISCUSSION...

There is a chance (30-40%) that a thunderstorm complex could move
into northern Illinois from the northwest Friday morning. Though
these storms would likely be in a weakening phase, they may still
be able to produce damaging wind gusts.

Hot and humid weather will develop this weekend into early next
week. Peak afternoon heat indices at or above 100 degrees are
expected for several days.

  Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Illinois...Wisconsin...

  Turtle Creek Near Clinton affecting Rock and Winnebago Counties.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL TOMORROW EVENING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Turtle Creek near Clinton.

* WHEN...Until tomorrow evening.

* IMPACTS...At 8.5 feet, Portions of East Creek Rd threatened east
  of Tiffany. Parking lots threatened at Turtle Creek Parkway near
  Tiffany Stone Bridge. Widespread inundation of forest land north
  of Clinton and in the east side of Beloit.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 8:00 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 7.6 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 6.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    this afternoon to a crest of 8.5 feet this evening. It will
    then fall below flood stage tomorrow morning.
  - Flood stage is 8.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    8.5 feet on 06/13/2008.
