Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

  Elevated Snow Risk Late Tonight.

DISCUSSION...

Rain beginning this evening will transition to wet snow late tonight
into tomorrow morning, mainly for areas near and north of I-88.
Several inches of wet snow accumulation is expected north of I-88
and especially near the Wisconsin stateline.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

Saturday...
  Limited Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk.
  Elevated Snow Risk.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

  Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 4 AM TO 1 PM CDT
SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Accumulating wet snow expected. Total snow accumulations
  of 2 to 5 inches, with the highest amounts north of I-88.

* WHERE...Lee, De Kalb and Kane Counties.

* WHEN...From 4 AM to 1 PM CDT Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Slushy snow accumulation, especially on bridges and
  overpasses, is likely to adversely impact travel for a period
  early Saturday morning.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow rates may peak near 1 inch per hour
  for a period late tonight into early Saturday morning. The
  expected heavy, wet nature of the snow will make shoveling
  hazardous.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Slow down and use caution while traveling.
