Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

Weather hazards expected...

  Limited Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
     Limited Tornado risk.
     Limited damaging wind risk...up to 60 mph.
  High Swim Risk Lake Michigan Shore

DISCUSSION...

Showers and thunderstorms will continue throughout the afternoon and
into the evening. A few brief tornadoes will be possible through
8 PM CDT.

Large waves and onshore winds will result in a threat for
dangerous rip currents at Illinois beaches into this evening.

...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1215 AM CDT THURSDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of northeast Illinois, including the following
  areas, Cook and Kane.

* WHEN...Until 1215 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 809 PM CDT, doppler radar and automated rain gauges
    indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Between 1 and 2
    inches of rain have fallen, with a few isolated locations
    receiving up to 2.5 inches of rainfall over the last few
    hours.
  - Showers and thunderstorms moving over the same areas may
    produce additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch in portions
    of the area.
  - Some locations that may experience minor flooding include...
    Aurora, Elgin, Hoffman Estates, Bartlett, Streamwood,
    Carpentersville, St. Charles, Algonquin, West Chicago,
    Batavia, Huntley, Geneva, Campton Hills, Barrington, South
    Elgin, North Aurora, Pingree Grove, Gilberts, West Dundee and
    Elburn.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Advisory means minor flooding along waterways and other poor
drainage areas is imminent or may already be occurring. Persons in
the advisory area should use caution and avoid flood waters.
