...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM CDT THURSDAY...

* WHAT...Heat index values of 105 to 110 degrees.

* WHERE...Portions of central, east central and west central
  Illinois.

* WHEN...The heat index should rise above 100 degrees late
  Thursday morning, and remain in triple digits much of the
  afternoon. Areas north of I-74 may see some cooling take place
  late afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illness may occur quickly for people and
  pets with prolonged outdoor exposure.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out
of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young
children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles
under any circumstances. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved
to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call
9 1 1.

...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM CDT THURSDAY...

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central
Illinois, east central Illinois and west central Illinois.

.DAY ONE...TONIGHT...

Heat index values will reach 102 to 106 degrees this afternoon
and drop only to around 75 tonight.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY...

Heat index values will reach 102 to 110 degrees Thursday
afternoon.

Scattered thunderstorms will develop Thursday afternoon and
evening. Some of the storms could become severe, with damaging
winds and large hail. Locally heavy rainfall is also possible.

Isolated to scattered thunderstorms will be possible at times
Friday night through Saturday.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation is not anticipated through tonight.
