This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southern
Illinois, southwest Indiana, western Kentucky, and southeast
Missouri.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight

An elevated risk of wildfire growth and spread will continue
across southeast Missouri and southern Illinois west of
Interstate 57.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday
Elevated fire danger will exist across the entire region Tuesday
and critical fire danger conditions are forecast across western
parts of southeast Missouri.

Wind gusts up to 35 mph are forecast Tuesday.

Extremely strong winds will develop on Wednesday, with gusts well
over 40 mph expected. There is even some potential for winds to
approach severe levels with gusts approaching 60 mph. Fire danger
will be a major concern over southeast Missouri, where little or
no precipitation is expected.

There is a chance of a few thunderstorms developing just ahead of
a cold front as it moves eastward over areas east of the
Mississippi River Wednesday afternoon and evening. If storms
develop, there will be a chance of a few severe storms. All modes
of severe weather will be possible, but damaging winds will be
the greatest threat.

A risk of severe weather may develop again on Sunday.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation may be needed Wednesday afternoon and evening
over southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, and west Kentucky.
