Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

  Elevated Lakeshore Flood Risk.
  High Swim Risk.

DISCUSSION...

High waves will continue to create dangerous swimming conditions
and the potential for minor lakeshore flooding along the Lake
Michigan shore in Illinois and Indiana.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

Tuesday...
  High Swim Risk.
Thursday through Saturday...
  Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
Sunday...
  Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
  Limited Excessive Heat Risk.

DISCUSSION:

 Hazardous lakeshore conditions due to high waves will continue
 through Tuesday night. Heat and humidity return this weekend.

...LAKESHORE FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM CDT
TUESDAY...
...BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH WEDNESDAY
MORNING...

* WHAT...Minor lakeshore flooding and dangerous swimming
  conditions expected due to large waves to 10 feet and strong
  currents.

* WHERE...Indiana Lake Michigan shore.

* WHEN...Dangerous swimming conditions will continue through early
  Wednesday. A threat for minor lakeshore flooding will continue
  through Tuesday evening.

* IMPACTS...The large waves and strong currents will result in
  life-threatening conditions for anyone who ventures into the
  lake. With record high lake levels, inundation of portions of
  the lake shore is probable, including locations such as
  Whiting Lakefront Park. In addition, beach erosion caused by
  the record high lake levels will likely be exacerbated.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain away from the lakeshore to avoid the dangerous conditions
and do not venture out onto piers, jetties, breakwalls, or other
shoreline structures. The large waves and inundation of portions
of the lakeshore can easily sweep onlookers into the lake. Please
check with your local authorities on potential beach closures.
