This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southern
Illinois, southwest Indiana, western Kentucky, and southeast
Missouri.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Isolated thunderstorms are possible this afternoon, with locally
heavy rain and lightning as the main hazards.

Heat indices will range from the upper 90s to lower 100s this
afternoon.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday

There is a daily chance of thunderstorms over parts or all of the
region through Tuesday, and a small chance of storms returns
Thursday night into Friday as well. The best chances will be
during the heat of the day Sunday and Monday. Locally heavy rain
and lightning will be the main hazards.

Afternoon heat index values will be close to or over 100 degrees each
day, and may reach 105 or more in localized areas not as affected
by storms on Sunday.

...PEAK HEAT INDEX VALUES 100 TO 105 DEGREES THIS AFTERNOON...

High temperatures around 90 coupled with high humidity across the
region will result in afternoon heat index values from 100 to 105
degrees. Isolated showers and thunderstorms will provide relief
for some.

The heat affects us all differently. Given the very high
humidity, little relief from the heat will be found unless
indoors in air conditioning. Exercise caution if you must be
outside for an extended period of time.
